Paean to Pain
Is there an incantation
that could free me
From my chthonic wall of pain?
I cry the words of solace that I've never heard,
The words that echo from the wall of pain.
There are none to answer, out beyond the wall;
There are none here with me to hear my cries.
So, yes, I am free:
Free to cry as loudly and as long
As the pain will bear it.
