Olympic Moment
Keep your eyes on the ball, your mind on the goal.
Is the lesson then that life is but a game?
Each player's part works toward the greater whole
Indifferent to who gets the greater fame.
But what of those apart, another voice
Who claim adventure, sparkle, endless thrill?
Those who spurn the rules, create their choice
Demand no greater ally than pure will?
We take our turn upon the peak to fly
Turning vision to our guiding star
Expressing what we mean by "I"
While discovering who we truly are.
